USC’s Progressive Degree Program enables superior undergraduates to begin work on a master’s degree while completing requirements for the bachelor’s degree. Applicants to the Progressive Degree in Global Medicine program must have completed 64 units of course work and must submit their application prior to completion of their bachelor’s degree. Applicants need not submit GRE scores, but are expected to have a minimum USC GPA of 3.3 at the time of application. The application for admission to this program must be accompanied by an approved course plan proposal and one letter of recommendation. The requirements for both the bachelor’s and the master’s degrees must be satisfied, including a minimum of 128 undergraduate units. The Progressive Degree Program is not available to non-USC students. Progressive degree applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Admission Requirements and Application Components:

  • Have earned a minimum of 64 units (not including AP/IB units)
  • Minimum cumulative USC GPA of 3.3 and a minimum science GPA of 3.2
  • Completion of General Chemistry and General Biology
  • Meet with a Global Medicine advisor
  • 1 letter of recommendation from USC professors
  • 1-page personal statement
  • Progressive Degree Application, including course plan
