Study Abroad

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Medicine program had to temporarily suspend travel, but we found ways to connect with our international partners via online technologies. Now, as the world begins to increasingly open up, we look forward to resuming these courses, with our first trip to Panama taking place in Spring 2023. MEDS 554 – Clinical Medicine and Healthcare Delivery in Panama

A course in rural Panama in coordination with Floating Doctors, students get to observe first-hand the practice of rural medicine as they gain exposure to the various socio-economic factors present in Bocas del Toro, Panama.

Students will examine the economic, social, political, and specific health challenges currently faced in Japan. Students will develop a culturally-specific knowledge of health determinants in the context of Japanese life, as well as develop their understanding of health systems and inter-sectoral approaches to addressing these issues.
